Whitehorse, Yukon

We arrived at Whitehorse which is the Capital of the Yukon with a population of 26,418 people.  After the many days of wilderness and no phone and few services, we were excited to go running around a Big City.  Shopping and dining out is a treat.   We were referred to a "Mexican" restaurant and kinda looked at each other, rolling our eyes.  How could we ever top the wonderful places we have in New Mexico?  Well, Sanchez Cantina was a hit.  The owner is from Veracruz, Mexico. She settled in Whitehorse and we were so lucky we took a chance and ate here.  The service was fun and food fantastic.  Heard people say they stopped here every time they were in Whitehorse.

Rain came in the next morning and socked us in for picture taking. Dined at the Rib and Salmon - great revues from everyone we talked to as well as Yelp and other sites.  Fish and Chips, Salmon, Prime Rib and BBQ Ribs.

We are not surprised with the ambiance of the dining places in the Yukon.  Very old shack with a small outside dining porch.  Maybe about 10 tables in one room and about that many in a back room.  Great food.

The Whitehorse Inn is downtown and as you can see, one of the buildings has a dirt and grass roof.

Some very nice art galleries and just an enjoyable visit to a wonderful city.
